Why this exists

The AI gap is real.
It's opening fast.

AI is a generational change for society. Everyone should get the chance to be part of it, not only the people who are already ahead.

60%+

of high earners use AI every single day as part of their job.

<16%

of lower-paid workers do.

Recent UK and US polls, as cited in Gordon's AI Week 2026 talk.

01

"AI is only for tech people."

Not true. If you can ask a friend for advice, you can ask an AI assistant. No code, just conversation.

02

"I've already missed my window."

Not true. You haven't missed it, you just haven't started. Being a beginner isn't a disadvantage, because the tools are far easier than they were.

03

"It'll sort itself out."

Not true. Left alone, the gap gets worse. Training skews towards people who are already ahead.

What's inside

Start together.
Then pick your path.

Everyone starts in the same place: the basics of AI in plain English, and how to use it safely, protecting your job, your data and your clients.

01

Use AI in your own business or work.

Get practical, fast. Learn to apply AI to the work you already do, and build your first real-life example step by step.

Path one
02

Turn AI into income.

Consulting, building automations for businesses, content or digital products. A side hustle or a change of direction: that's entirely your call.

Path two

Not ready to join yet?

Start with the plan from the talk.

Ten working days, 15 minutes a day, about two and a half hours in total. That's what it takes to become genuinely, usefully AI-competent.

Week one: get comfortable

Pick any free AI assistant. You don't need to pay to start.

  1. Say hello. Ask three everyday questions.
  2. Summarise and simplify. Paste in an article and ask for plain English.
  3. Give it context. Ask the same thing twice, vague then specific, and compare.
  4. Push back. Don't settle for the first answer. Refine it.
  5. Try to catch it out. Get into the habit of checking.

Week two: usable and safe

Always check your organisation's policy before using AI at work.

  1. Know the rules. Find out what you can and can't share.
  2. Do one real task. Something small and low risk from your actual job.
  3. Think with it. Prepare for a meeting, or critique a draft.
  4. Build a reusable prompt. Save it so you never retype it.
  5. Share and embed. Show a colleague, and schedule a regular task.
The one rule, always: never type or paste anything personal, confidential, proprietary or identifiable into an AI tool. That habit matters more than which tool you pick.
